  1. One pair of pants to do it all 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jun 2014

These are great pants. As others have mentioned, layering is key in the later season, but I have worn them down to the 20s with a good base layer. I also wore them on a spring bear hunt where temps got to the 70s and they worked great.

The waterproof seat should be standard on all hunting pants!

These pants are more than worth the price of admission.

  2. Awesome Mid to Late Season Pant 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Jun 2014

I have to opportunity to test products for Gore-Tex. I am told to give honest and accurate reviews about the products they sell and this pant is one of the best pieces of gear I have ever worn in my life. First thing I did was take the knee pads out, I thought they were uncomfortable to walk in but the pockets that the pads are held in create enough padding around the knees to comfortably crawl around. Given the double reinforced, waterproof, breathable knees and seat, this pant is a must have/go to pant for any hardcore hunter that spends a lot of time glassing or stalking on hands and knees in any type of weather. The Timberline's are very flexible and non-restrictive so climbing up the steepest mountains is a cake walk in these babies. I would say this pant is medium weight, so in the later season, base layering is key.

  3. Noise? 4 Star Review

I like the fit I do question if the gray cloth areas will be quite enough for archery. After a break in period it may be just fine. Lets say I hope that it will be fine.

  4. Great pant's if you are going to wear base layer's. 5 Star Review

great pant's if you need to breath but base layer's are recommended.

  5. great for midwestern woods as well! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Jun 2013

Bought these pants after searching for a pair of all around hunting pants for missouri woodlands. I know these pants are geared more for the mountain hunter but have found them equally suitable for a woodland environment. The three features I love best are the waterproof seat and knees which ARE waterproof, the pants are super quiet, and the best of all is the way the fabric stretches as you walk. I didn't realize how big of a difference it makes by having pants that move with you when you are hiking up and down hills and crawling through brush. I got tired of ordinary hunting pants that wouldn't stretch at all and the crotch and legs would bind up while walking which makes you exert more effort than is necessary. Not these pants, they stretch with every move! I loved them so much I just bought a pair for my dad for fathers day and he loves them allready. I bought from linton outdoors and the service was great, no complaints. I did discard the knee pads that came with the pants as they weren't very comfortable to walk in (felt to bulky). Also, beware of thorn bushes as they will "pill" the fabric out wherever a thorn gets stuck.

  6. great hunting pants 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Oct 2012

I bought these pants for Stone sheep hunt next year, but "tried them out" on a backcountry elk hunt in Idaho and then a Wy. Pronghorn hunt.
They are really great! I love the pockets, that zip closed to keep anything from falling out, and there are plenty of them. I carried small camera, laser range finder, gloves, leatherman(in the special pocket just designed for leatherman)wallet, extra cartridges, lens cloth, and other "usual" stuff you put in pockets, without any problems and plenty of room.
The Knee pads, in my mind, make the pants so different from others.I crawled a lot through small cactus(ever hunted pronghorns in Wyoming?) and no cactus spines entered thru the knee pads or into me!!!!
The material is tough and after three washings seems like new
Also seemed to shed water pretty well in one day of drizzling rain.
Overall, expensive but in my opinion well worth the cost for a great pair of hunting pants.
PS. the pants also come with a pair of suspenders and belt which worked very well.

  7. Great pants 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Oct 2012

Wore them every day for 9 days while hunting in alaska. They were very warm and cut the wind pretty good. They were very comfortable while hiking. They would be comfortable for me from 70 degrees down to 15 degrees or so with the proper underwear. The waist size was a little snug, but manageable. The dinky belt that is sewn into the pants is pretty useless.

  8. Rugged 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Dec 2011

Awesome pant, I love the tough goretex reinforcement in the knees and seat, these are always the first places to wear, also doubled up on the inside lower leg for durability. I didn't care for the knee pads just because they look kinda funny, but been in some stalks where they would have been handy! Keep buildin good gear!
